Earth Day on the Waterfront: Giving Back, Off the Beaten Path

Posted by Aidan Fitzgerald on

Last Earth Day, the Urban Spa team stepped away from our everyday routines and headed down to Toronto’s waterfront to participate in a community cleanup alongside our local BIA. What started as a few shared hours outdoors quickly became a powerful reminder of why giving back is such an important part of who we are.

As the cleanup unfolded, our group found ourselves under the Gardiner Expressway, away from the obvious paths and high‑traffic areas. This stretch of the waterfront isn’t where most people stop to look, but it’s exactly where the need was greatest. Surrounded by concrete overhead and overlooked spaces below, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work.

Clearing litter from these off‑the‑beaten‑path areas felt especially meaningful. It wasn’t about visible recognition or perfectly scenic views, it was about showing up where help is needed most. Bag by bag, we saw how small, collective actions can restore spaces that often go unnoticed.

This experience reflects the heart of the Urban Spa team. Whether it’s through sustainability initiatives, community partnerships, or simply showing care in the way we do our work, we believe wellness extends beyond what our products can do. Caring for people also means caring for the environment and the communities we’re part of.

Earth Day served as a reminder that impact doesn’t always happen in the spotlight. Sometimes it’s found beneath an overpass, in overlooked corners, where a dedicated group is willing to lend a hand. We’re proud and grateful to our BIA partners for creating the opportunity to give back in a meaningful way.
